A Walk in a Moonlit Night
It was late night, And a cool breeze did blow, As my friends and I, Walked on the empty street of the silent town.
The moon was full; Bathing the earth with her silvery light. The queen of the night-she moved slowly across, The twinkling diamonds studded in the sky.
The river flowed by, With its silvery waters, Silent and calm; tired By its day’s course.
Huge trees stood silent and steady, With their leaves swaying, Gently in the cool breeze. Birds slept in their nests, Animals under shelters; men in the homes.
However, few dogs moaned at a distance, Breaking the night’s silence; As my friends and I, Walked on the empty street, Of the silent town.
