My View of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar, Once Roman dictator, Proud but noble, Weak still strong.

Cais Cassius, Republican, jealous, Shrewd and practical, Plays the villain.

Mark Antony, Caesar’s follower. The orator of hearts, Clever to be triumvirate. Shrewd, but still has a heart.

Casca, coward and inconsistent. Decius, the clever flatterer. Cinna, the poet, unlucky. The conspirators, all jealous, except one.

Calpurnia, superstitious, but true. Portia, loving wife, however endured. Titinius, true friend. Messala, good soldier. Lucilius, remarkable.

Lepidius, barren-spirited, Octavius, young but commanding, Lucius, Strato, Pindarus and other servants, A band of loyals. The Mob, fickle-minded.

‘The Ides of March’, a true fact. Soothsayer and Artemeidorus, unheard. The murder, non-justiciable. Antony’s forum speech, conspirators’ disaster. The Battle of Philippi, end of all. Superstition and omens, well placed.

Marcus Brutus, True Roman, Impractical, but honorable. Humane from heart, The noblest of all.

Dead Caesar, most powerful.

The play, a Shakespearean Tragedy.
